Thanks for the Crappy Service, Easyhost

Thank you for providing no way for me to access and backup my WordPress database. I’m transferring my domain name to Go Daddy, but apparently I have no way to do the same with my data. No PHPMyAdmin, no nothing. Easyhost has gotten far behind the times with hosting features. Their service has always sucked. They didn’t even have a method for one person to have an account that lets them manage multiple domains paid for with multiple credit cards. Idiots.

So unless I can figure something out, the next time you see michaelmartine.com, it may look like somebody hit the reset button.

Update: I used the wp-db-backup plugin and it worked great. Thanks, whoever you are at Seavestor, for suggesting it!

Alan: it doesn’t work that way. They squirrel the damn thing out to mysql.michaelmartine.com and you can’t FTP it.

    You’re welcome on the colors.

I feel okay about this whole thing. Maybe I needed a fresh start.

Yeah, crappy hosts are everywhere, not easy to find a good one.
I’e been using http://hostgator.com for a while and I think it’s worth it.

You can import via RSS on wordpress. Also, WP has a Backup plugin, may you can modify it to “back it up” and leave the backup inside your webroot, and download it from there.

I would suggest asmallorange.com - really a nice service. No, i don’t work for them, i got many references about them from macrumors.com. They’re good on support too, i had to contact them at 1am on sat. and heard back w/in the hour.
