New Faces and Great Posts by my Blogging Friends: You Rock!

First, I want to highlight the new people I’ve met and the great things they have done for September, 2007.

New Blogs and New Friends

• BloggingBits, by Mohsin a blogger from Pakistan who has written a guest post here and has a great post called the Top 10 Things to Do to Put Off Your Readers on his own blog during September.
• Lifestyle Maverick, by Bunk Price who writes about “bending reality,” which is an idea I love. He wrote a great post this past month about how any goof can make $300 an hour.
• Zuggu.com, a digg-style site for pro bloggers and online marketers/moneymakers, started by Ariel White. I recently interviewed Ariel about Zuggu.
• Theme Playground, by Ryan Imel, who I’ve chatted with online a few times and gotten to know a little better. Ryan’s a great guy, and I found his posts about WordPress 2.3 extremely valuable. He also has begun writing for Copyblogger, too!
• Small Potato blogged out loud his thoughts on the plausibility of earning money through selling WordPress themes.
• Everybody over at the Authority Blogger Forum. You all are great and a big thanks to Chris Garrett for running it smoothly, along with everything else he’s doing. When do you sleep, Chris?

Great Posts from my Blogging Friends

• Chris Lodge from Blog-Op posted this brilliant little song, I wish I was a Pro Blogger. Really put a smile on my face.
• Tad Chef from SEO 2.0 has busted out with a truckload of terrific posts about using StumbleUpon.
• Skellie wrote a fantastic series about her simple web philosophy, in which (it seems to me) she distills the essence of her own success for others to follow. Her blog is the result of this process and a great example of it.
• Greg Balanko-Dickson is my business coach and mentor and he has been quite busy with his new Small Business Transitions blog. He explains the changes here. Greg has been instrumental in my decision to enter blog consulting and if you’ve never considered having a business coach before, I recommend it highly. Thanks, Greg!

Cranking Up My Blogging

For September of 2007, I have totally cranked up my blogging game with more original post topics and some pavement-pounding networking. Here’s a quick recap:

• Dropped the boring link post format for something much fresher and more fun: Overheard in the Blogosphere quote links, an idea dropped by Skellie a while ago and which I decided to make my own and run with.
• I now blog professionally on two blogs besides this one: BloggingTips.com and PureBlogging.com. I’m really stoked about this! To be a part of the team for them is a thrill and an honor, and I want to thank David Culpepper from PureBlogging.com and Kevin Muldoon from BloggingTips.com for asking me to join them.
• Thanks to Tad Chef of SEO 2.0 and his on-the-mark review of MichaelMartine.com, I’ve tweaked the blog’s design a little more during September and I think it’s a great improvement.
• I’ve made a commitment to write original and more engaging posts, and it has paid off: How to Manage Your Blog for the Long Term: Think like a Gardener drew a good response, as did 10 Things You Will Not See on My Blog.
• I announced my availability as a blog consultant, and have landed good work in that area already.
• I’ve been doing some guest blogging, which has been one of the best things I ever did and I recommend it to any blogger looking to network with others and grow their traffic.
• I made my first video post, and decided to do it specifically as an example of how fast, cheap, and easy it can be to encourage you to do it, too.

Here’s to looking forward to everything October has to offer!
