Overheard in the Blogosphere 8

whispering in ear

We’re always painting this rosy picture of how “leaving my job was the best thing that I could have ever done” and “I’m free now — YAY!” Well that’s a bunch of bullshit and nonsense. In fact, I’m guilty of spreading such propaganda.

oh mighty Google overlords, take my ads, take my firstborn, take anything you wish. By the way, give me a minute to bend over and here’s some lube to make it easier on you.

Do you ever feel jealous that another blogger in your niche is getting more readers than you?

Sometimes its difficult for me to come up with anything to write over here, because my head gets clogged with annoying questions such as, “Do Bloods eat at Burger King?” You see, in Cripspeak, “BK” stands for “Blood Killer”. So does that mean that all Blood gang members avoid eating at Burger King? The BK Broiler could be pretty offensive, right?

I noticed that a number of other folks have picked up on my “Random thoughts from…” style of blog post. That’s kind of cool.

So all you corporate MBAs out there, here’s a little tip. When you planning on how to embrace the brave new world of Web 2.0, the first question you ask yourself should not be “What tools do I use?”

Blogs, RSS, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook- it doesn’t matter.

The first question you should REALLY ask yourself is:

“How do I want to change the way I talk to people?”

And hopefully the rest should follow.

Think about it.

Thank you so much for these posts! I know I’ve said it before, but your “overheard in the blogosphere” is one of my favorite things to read.

Michael – Overheard provides the comic relief I need! I thought Jennifer’s comment was funny reading the whole IM thread was even funnier. – Ashley

@Ashley: Yeah the whole thing is pretty hilarious. Guess we know who the brains are in that operation.

Great as ever with the exception of this jerk Calacanis. Sounds like Beavis and Butthead the guy.

These are classic. What a great idea for a post. I especially agree with Hugh McLeod’s quote, after all those business writing courses – it is hard not to come across as “stuffy”.
