Carlo Selorio. I love this picture. Look at that check!
I was interviewed by Carlo Selorio for his blog Carlo Selorio’s Internet Entrepreneur’s Journey as a part of his Expert Interview Series.
Carlo is doing a very smart thing, here. By interviewing people and putting those interviews on a page, he’s creating a linkable resource for others, which will give him traffic and, eventually, a bit of PageRank. He’s got more interviews to come, so if you want to keep up with them, you should subscribe to Carlo’s blog.
Some of the questions were not just about blogging, and some were about how I started what my influences are. So if you’re curious, please do check it out:
Expert Interviews: Michael Martine
I know this sounds cheesy, but I feel honored to have been asked, and to have my interview be on a list with Courtney Tuttle of Blogging Zoom and Court’s Internet Marketing School, Daniel Scocco of Daily Blog Tips, and Alex Syoef of How to Spot Er and Web 2.0 Wealth (this last is an affiliate link, but it’s Carlo’s, not mine).
This is an easy strategy to implement, because it takes advantage of people’s vanity (I have to admit that it felt great to be asked for an interview). You don’t have to do so much writing yourself with interviews. The interviewees are likely to link to their interviews and help you grow your traffic simply because it also helps them. The interviewees’ readers are also likely to link to the interviews, because interviews are just one of those highly linkable forms of blog content.

Michael,
I agree with you
been approached by Carlo was a bit unusual but non-less a pleasant experience. Not only does he provide a good service via his interview, he made me think about couple things that hasn’t crossed my mind before and I’ve been following his interviews series
So I fully share your sentiments and thanks for the link.
@Alex: Yes, interviews are more than just exercises in flexing our egos. Good interview questions make you think, cause you to understand more about yourself, and even grow as a person.
Michael - I have been thinking of interviewing local professionals that are a part of the home buying/selling process. I just needed a nudge. - Ashley
@Ashley: that’s a great idea! You should definitely do that!
Michael - I have been doing this with local business people in my hometown and then it gets them great exposure and they want to send their family, friends and potential clients to check it out - all win-win! I need to think how to do this with more “blogging savvy” professionals so it increases the links and SEO impact - hmmm, you got me thinking!! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
@Cyndee: I had a wonderful Thanksgiving, thanks! I hope yours was good, too. More and more, your clients will have websites and blogs. Just ask them if they have a blog you can link to. If they say no, just send ‘em to me!
