Attention Video Bloggers: CuePrompter is Your Online Teleprompter

Mashable reports there is a new “teleprompter” application online, called CuePrompter. And just in case you didn’t know, a teleprompter is a machine (computers, nowadays) that scrolls the text a person reads when giving a speech. They’re used by everyone from politicians to talk show hosts to news anchor people.

I’m big on video, and I know there’s some fairly sophisticated video blogging software that includes a teleprompter. But who doesn’t like the idea of a simple, free online service? Now, it’s not without its problem. As Mashable and their source, Download Squad, have noted, it doesn’t seem to like Firefox or Safari on a Mac too well for some advanced features. I tried it on Firefox on Windows and had no trouble with the full screen setting.

Here’s a screenshot of the main interface:

And here’s what the teleprompter function looks like:

I’ll try this for my next video (coming soon) and we’ll see how it goes. I’ll bet it beats manually scrolling through a Word doc with an oversized font!

Once again, that’s CuePrompter.

Thanks Michael! I’m definitely going to give this a shot on my next video cast. My first one could have definitely used this!

Wow, Thanks for the recommendation. This tool will definitely come in handy soon, as I’m personally going to begin creating some online videos, as well as help some of my clients utilize video more, so this is on my list of things to check out. Thanks again!

Thanks Michael - The interview with Seth was fun to do, and even more fun to share!

    Michael:

You’re one of my favorite blogger experts that I turn to for advice, etc.

This post is actually something of tremendous interest to me because I am interested in creating my first video post at my blog.

But because I consider myself a technical neophyte (I know, be careful what you say, it might just come true or become a self fulfilling prophecy - LOL), I have no clue how to get started.

You may or may not know that I am totally deaf but I do speak. One of the things I want to do is caption or subtitle my video posts because I will be speaking (not signing). I did find something called overstream.net that makes it easy to caption YouTube, Google, etc. videos. But I’m getting ahead of myself here.

Maybe you should do a post detailing exactly how to do a video step by step including information on what video camera to buy, what software you use, etc.

If you do this post, I guarantee you’ll have the highest number of readers you’ve ever seen in your life because I cannot find anyone giving out step by step instructions. There are some sites out there that have “video tutorials” but they are lacking essential information like what kind of camera to buy, how many megapixels, how they adjust the video so that it is pointed at the blogger properly, etc. etc.

Not even Problogger has such a step by step list. I’ve tried to email him several times but he’s not responded to this inquiry. So maybe you could beat him to it and be the first blogger expert with a very detailed, series step by step tutorial for technical neophytes like me who can squeal with delight in creating a video post easily and effortlessly!

You’d make my day/week/month/year if you did a series of “video how to” posts. :)

Looking forward to it and once you do this, I promise I will tell my readers about you several times in one week. LOL
