As I mentioned at the beginning of January, 2008 is gonna rock for many reasons. One of those is something I want to announce today:
Gateway Blogging -
A New Way to Do Business Blogging
Gateway Blogging is a new and better way to create and run a business blog. Experienced entrepreneur, author, and business coach Greg Balanko-Dickson and I have joined forces to “upgrade” business blogging as we know it from “coach” to “business class”. We feel there is a huge gap in how business blogging has been approached so far in its still very young life.
The usual blog advice does not address this gap. Your blog readers need a bridge to cross over that gap (to enter that gateway) so they become your customers.
After all… isn’t that the point of having a business blog in the first place?
- If you want more customers, and more highly qualified customers, we think you will find the information at Gateway Blogging worth your time.
- If you want immediately actionable information on how to REALLY run a business blog, beyond “just create great content” (puh-lease!), we feel the information at Gateway Blogging delivers.
What is Gateway Blogging?
Gateway Blogging is a set of ideas and methods you can use that is better than the usual blog advice. It works not only for me and Greg, but for several others who have tried its techniques so far. Naturally, we want that number to grow so the proof is even more compelling. Those of you who have downloaded my free ebook on How to Start a Business Blog have a taste of Gateway Blogging techniques already. Get ready for the buffet. I would go so far as to say that you could read my posts on the three components of Gateway Blogging and put them into action with your next business blog post.
A Book and More
Greg and I are going to write a book together on Gateway Blogging, and possibly grow the site into an interactive learning environment. Right now, the blog serves as public notes, research, and conversations about the ideas behind Gateway Blogging and business blogging. This is similar to the approach taken by John Battelle of Searchblog and Chris Anderson of the Long Tail.
Please join us. We invite you over for a visit and to subscribe by feed or email. The more participants in this conversation, the better the final book will be. You can play an important part in it.

Awesome, James. Looking forward to your participation.
Hey Michael. Just signed up the feed. I’m changing the focus of my blog, more focused now on reputation management which is the niche I want more clients in.
Going to give it a look and see what I can learn. Look forward too it
Cheers,
Glen
@Glen - Thank you, that’s great to hear. Reputation management, eh? Man, you know how to stay on the cutting edge, I’ll give you that. Now that is something that I’m looking forward to!
It’s something I’ve been doing for clients for a while just never really focused the blog on that subject.
I figure although I get links etc to articles around marketing via social media I want to be unique and be able to stand out.
Gateway blogging sounds like it has real potential and I will be following it closely. It will be interesting to see what direction you guys go in with all this. Good luck to you on your project!
@Patrick - Thanks, Patrick! Man, you have one of most unusual blog niches I’ve ever seen. I can only guess it must your real life experience?
Okay, now I have to go see what it is…
I’m in Michael. I’m happy to support whatever you’re working on. Adding Greg to the mix makes it doubly great.
Can’t WAIT to see what’s next for you two!
Michael I mentioned you ebook in a post I wrote last week(http://activerain.com/blogsview/332675/You-Tube-for-intellectuals)… and it was a BIG hit according to the feedback so far. This looks like another piece of the puzzle I’ll be sharing with my marketing group, thanks!
