How to Start a Business Blog Ebook Now Free, No Subscribing

by Michael Martine on May 22, 2008 · 4 comments

I am no longer requiring RSS or email subscriptions in exchange for the How to Start a Business Blog ebook. It’s yours to freely download or even embed on your own site (at the bottom of this post). If you find it valuable, you will subscribe to my blog anyway. Valuable content is incentive enough. Thank you to those of you who did subscribe in part to receive the ebook. I hope you got more out of it than you thought you would, and that my blog has been compelling and valuable enough for you to stick around and not unsubscribe. You have helped me in no small part grow this blog.

Why am I doing this? What does this portend? Oh… good things, my friends. Very good things!

  • The audio version of the book will be ready soon, and it will also be free
  • The group seminars I mention in the beginning of the book will run in June (more on that soon)
  • I’m going to need that space up there where the ad is for something else–something big (more on that later)

Subscribe to Remarkablogger so you don’t miss out! (I’m shameless, yes, I know, but really–it’s gonna be good.)

Note: You’ll probably want to view this full screen or download your own copy to read at your convenience. If you’re viewing this post in a reader, I invite you to click through to the blog to see the embedded ebook.

Nice work, Michael. If I’d had this back a year and a half ago, I might have taken my blog as seriously as I do now.

Looking forward to the audio …

Michael,
Interested in using Scribd, but I noticed this in their online FAQ: “Q: I use WordPress. Why can’t I see my iPaper embed? A: We’ve discovered that WordPress aggressively strips JavaScript embed codes, rendering iPaper unusable in WordPress blogs. We are working overtime to quickly find a solution to this problem.” My question: is there a quick fix for this problem? Thanks.

@Barry – Right now there is no solution. WordPress.com is free, but there is a certain “price” for free, as you can see. That’s why I strongly recommend self-hosted blogs.

In the meantime, all you can do is link to the Scribd page of your document. :(
