Growing Blog Traffic: Remarkablogger Blog Seminar (and contest!)

Growing Blog Traffic - A Live Remarkablogger Teleseminar

I want to tell you about my next event, which is all about growing blog traffic.

Because if there’s one thing bloggers want more than anything in the world, it’s traffic. Traffic is like a drug. It doesn’t matter how much you get, it’s never enough and you always want more. The law of diminishing returns sets in. Traffic levels that used to make your heart leap in your chest now make you yawn. And if they dip down below whatever level is unacceptable to you, you get angry and frustrated, and you worry it’ll never climb back up.

And if you’re trying to make money from your blog, more traffic means more money.

I kept my last seminar small, exclusive, and, let’s be honest, not that cheap. (SEO is a high-value arena. There are technical aspects of SEO and there is definitely a mystique about it… which the attendees of my seminar had dispelled for them).

But I want to take a different approach with the Growing Blog Traffic Live Teleseminar.

  • Instead of allowing only 12 people to attend, I’m going to allow 50 (if it sells out at 50, I can’t say at this point if will extend it or not).
  • Instead of charging $127, I’m only going to charge $67 (100% money-back satisfaction guarantee, of course).
  • Instead of holding it on a weeknight, I’m going to hold it on a Saturday afternoon (Oct. 18 at 3pm Eastern).
  • Instead of using a survey, I’m going to do some reconnaissance on this the “messy” way: with blog comments! (on this post)
  • I’m telling you what the price is before I even tell you what’s in it… because a big part of what’s going to be in it will be decided by your questions and needs.

What’s in the Seminar?

Now, there are a lot of traffic programs out there that claim to give you the voodoo secrets to magically sending a tsunami of blog traffic your way. Some of them are fantastic, and some are crap. Some are mind-blowingly expensive, most are too cheap to feel like they’re worth anything. Most of them are going to tell you the same things.

Mine will tell you some of those things, too, because there is such a thing as the basics. And that’s fine, because many of you are so new to this that you need the basics in a big way.

However, I’ve been doing my own traffic experiments, and I have stuff for you in the traffic department that’s different from the other guys.

In addition to your questions answered, here are several key take-aways you’ll receive in this seminar:

  • Beyond commenting: two words that make all the difference
  • One of the least-known and underutilized secrets to blog traffic
  • The one thing that’s really stopping you from getting the traffic you want

There is going so much cool stuff in this seminar, it’s going to make you want to start putting these tips and methods to work right away. Attendees from my WordPress SEO seminar said that they learned an incredible amount–Growing Blog Traffic will be just as informative.

3 Bloggers will earn “Traffic Scholarships”

In order to get questions, feedback, and to make this an example-in-action of blog traffic generation, I’m holding a competition. Here’s the deal:

The top 3 traffic referrers to this post get into the event at no charge.

It’s like a “traffic scholarship.” I’m going to check my analytics for the top referrers for this post the day before the seminar.

The Trackback URL for this post is: http://michaelmartine.com/2008/10/01/blog-traffic-seminar/

The top 3 will get free spots in the seminar (their fee will be refunded) and their blog URLs will be specifically mentioned and the bloggers congratulated during the seminar. If a blogger wishes to, the traffic scholarship may be given to another person (just email me the details).

    Where is the seminar?
I also wonder if you are going to do a online broadcasting of the seminar? Maybe for half of the price?

That should be good for your income and I think a lot of people are interested in the seminar…

@Pontus - The seminar is by phone. It’s a teleseminar. As long as you have a phone, you can attend and it doesn’t matter where you are (except for your phone bill!). It’s a big conference call, basically.

I’m interested but wonder if the biggest drivers-of-traffic actually NEED a free get-traffic-seminar? Seems those with the smallest amount of traffic need it most?
Or maybe I’m just asking because I desperately need it but can’t afford it and really want the scholarship all for myself? :) My target audience for my business and blog aren’t bloggers or people looking to make money online, they’re knitters and buyers-of-yarn, so it’s unlikely I’ll be able to drive traffic here :)

I am SO TAKING THIS. Because Michael is right, traffic is a drug, and I would like the opportunity to get much more addicted. :)

    thanks michael,

i was just waiting to get such an opportunity to hear from one of the biggest bloggers on the net. I hope that your teleseminar would be great to go for it.

By the way who will pay our telephone bills? Cause i live in India and for an ISD teleseminar i think i will have to sell my laptop!

Just for query: how long will the teleseminar approximately be?

@Tara - Yes, good point! The irony hasn’t escaped me, that’s for sure, but let me explain why I’m doing this. There is no number that you have to meet in order to win this. The most traffic might be all of, say, 20 referrals. But that would still be the most and that person would still win.

In order to win the contest, you have to come up with some kind of strategy for driving traffic to this page, and that will be a valuable learning experience (and of course, I get traffic, so me doing this is also an example everyone can learn from).

I think it will be really interesting to hear what each winner did in order try and drive traffic. Of course, the seminar will cover many different strategies, but as you can see already, contests are a strategy. :)

@Sonia - LOL, hey you can quit any time you want, right?

@Sashikant - Yes, such a call would be expensive on a normal phone line from outside the USA. But it would not be much at all via VOIP solution such as Skype or Gizmo Project.

I work at a sales training firm in Indianapolis and our main objective for the last quarter of this year is to increase traffic to our blog and hopefully generate the purchase of a product or possibyly a consulting package from that.

Right now we blog at least twice a week. We have three trainers who take turns posting articles about anything that sales people could encounter or face when dealing with clients or even co workers.

We have recently incorporated podcasts and videos into our blog. We have been making every effort possible (or so we think) to generate traffic to the blog; as of right now we send clients there by telling them about it, we also mention it in our podcast which has over 10,000 subscribers all over the world. But how do we bring people to the blog that aren’t clients or subscribers to the podcast?

@Joe - That is a fantastic question, Joe! Thanks for submitting it. I think many people in the seminar will be curious about this one.

    Michael,

    I just registered (yay!)

Will the phone call be available for download as well?

I’m really disappointed in my blog traffic! My main objective is to obtain subscribers to either the blog itself or my online newsletter.

I’ve tried directories, submitting articles, commenting on other blogs, etc.

What am I doing wrong? Is high traffic only for internet marketing oriented blogs?

  12. Posted October 15, 2008 at 11:27 pm | Permalink

@Merlyn - High traffic is for everyone, not just a particular niche. Often, methods and tactics that do not work well in internet marketing work very well for other less jaded audiences.

I’d love to have you join us at the teleseminar. You are the perfect person for this.
