The analogy I like to make for folks who are new to Twitter is that it’s like IM’ing all your friends, just at the same time. Oh, and everyone is eavesdropping. Oh, and it’s recorded for all of human history :)

Nice introduction, Deanna!

@Josh – that’s a great way to put it. Twitter is truly more than the sum of its parts.

Superb! Great newbie/green Twitter blog! Yours is the second in as many days … and they were both DEAD ON!

Thanks for the reminder how ALL of us: new, old, power, or tinkerer … should use Twitter.

Perfect timing with this very informative post, as I am trying to encourage a couple of my friends to use Twitter more. It’s so true that the more you tweet, the more tweeting will make sense to you. I’ll be e-mailing this to my Twitter-newbie friends.

Deanna,

Your coverage of twitter is about the best I have seen, better than any hubpage or squidoo writeup too.

I think Biz Stone is the guy behind Twitter, and if so, it will be one heck of a success story, for sure. I see a big marketer, Ed Dale, evangelizing it too.

I’ll get my partner to follow you – he’s big into twitter.

regards,

Dave

I totally agree with this post, but they (Twitter) could be even better than Facebook and MySpace if they at least shown more feature into their front page, like new People, new Group, etc Just don make it ’simple’

Another great post. If I may could I add this link, http://justtweetit.com/

This is a network for tweeters. No longer do you have to worry about not being followed because it lets you join a group of other tweeters who have the same interests as you. It increased my following/followers ratio by 20%. I really think this should be part of the tweeter 101 lesson.

I opened a Twitter account but since I am yet to buy an iPhone I dont get to post very often. When I’m at my home computer I prefer to work on my sites rather than post on twitter or any other social networking site for that matter. I guess I will just have to wait till I can get an iPhone to really be able to benefit from twitter.
