Teaching Sells is closing. It’s true.
I’ve been a member of this program from the beginning. Why did I join? Because of trust. Let me explain.
I had been reading Brian Clark’s blog, Copyblogger, for a long time. During that time I came to trust him (that’s the power of blogs). Teaching Sells was not a casual [...]
I just found out that, according to newly improved Alexa rankings, Remarkablogger is in the top 100 Internet Business Blogs. But since I’m number 48, you could say it’s really the top 50. This is a list compiled by Business Opportunities and Ideas blog, who took the time to look at the Alexa numbers. The [...]
Which stands for Successful and Outstanding Blogger. For years, Liz Strauss has been highlighting bloggers at her highly social and influential Successful Blog. So I feel honored to have been named an SOB! First time anybody’s called me that… and I liked it!

What do Anita Bruzzese, Brian Clark, Lorelle VanFossen, Chris Garrett, Muhammad Saleem, David Bullock, Chris Brogan, Liz Strauss, Dr. Rob Wolcott, and Ari Garber all have in common? They’re teaching/presenting at SOBcon this May in Chicago, and I’m going to be there.
This is going to be my first blogging conference, and really, I don’t think [...]

This is the first page of Google search results as of today:
I am a very happy man, right now. I just need to say one thing: BOO-YAH!
Until today, I never claimed any SEO prowess. But making the front page of Google SERPs says something for me in a way no claims of my own ever [...]

This is a quick post to shout out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who subscribed for my free 82-page ebook How to Start a Business Blog. Some of you haven’t had the chance to download it yet because I haven’t posted since you subscribed. So I wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone [...]

Buh-bye, 2007. Helloooooo 2008!
New Remarkablogger Design & Logo
There’s some new stuff to say howdy to here on Remarkablogger. First of all, if you’re seeing this in a reader, come check out the new design. I’m now rockin’ the logo Mohsin designed for me. So come check it out!
The new theme is based on Sandbox. There [...]

Okay, this is fun! If you’ve recently upgraded to WordPress 2.3.2 and also the latest version of PodPress 8.8, you may be in for some Internal Server Error page hijinks. As far as I know right now, the only solution is to deactivate the PodPress plugin.
Update: I don’t think PodPress really has anything to do [...]
December 31, 2007 – 1:22 am
Remarkablogger’s gonna get a shiny new theme and redesign for 2008! There may be some goofiness during the transition. Right now my contact forms are disabled, and you may get Internal Server Error pages as you navigate the blog. If that happens, just reload the page and it should be fine. I’ll get it all [...]

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Facebook is the most worthless waste of time ever?
Facebook is so maddeningly useless to me, I just can’t stand it anymore. I don’t want to be poked, bitten by vampires, sent drinks, find out if my movie tastes are like someone else’s, join a group for [...]

I’m so excited about what’s just around the corner that I can’t wait. I’m giving you a sneak peek at some wonderful improvements and new things ahead for you, my readers and clients.
New Logo
I love my new logo! I just have to say that. It was designed by Mohsin, a friend of mine who runs [...]

The Whaah?
The Secret Link!
The Secret Link is only available to Remarkablogger RSS subscribers. I update it once a week or so. If you haven’t subscribed to the Remarkablogger RSS feed or email (in the sidebar), you are missing out on cool tools and links every week.
As an example, here is the previous Secret Link: Stripe [...]

Since I’ve changed the name from my own name to Remarkablogger and explained why, I wanted to provide you with some insight into what’s coming up for the blog and consultancy:
Speaking about blogging at a crafts marketing conference: I’ll be speaking at the Vermont Crafts Council Fall Marketing Conference which is tomorrow. If you’re in [...]

You may have noticed a slight change. Better Blogging with Michael Martine is now Remarkablogger. I kept thinking about Seth Godin’s speech about remarkableness, embodied by his “Purple Cow” concept. That has been a tremendous inspiration to me to really crank things up to the max in terms of originality and creativity and to stand [...]

A few days ago I decided to run a promotion called Free Quick Blog Reviews. You could submit your blog’s URL and I will choose 5 blogs to review for free here. A total of nine entries were made, so the good news is that over half of you will get reviews! The deadline was [...]

I’ve updated my comment/trackback policy (for which there is a link above the comment box on single post pages).
Specifically, I’ve added that I will reject your comment if the site url you provide leads to an automated blog and I determine that the blog provides no value to myself or my readers. Splogs and MFA [...]

One of my goals is to increase my RSS readership. To that end, I’d like to offer a little enticement: on a random basis, RSS subscribers will get bonus links beneath the regular post content in their feed readers. You never know when I’ll change the link or what it’ll be! These links will not [...]
Today I had a chance to see how the blog looked in Internet Explorer 6, and it ain’t pretty. Apologies to IE6 users! I’ll see what I can do to get things working properly as soon as I can.
UPDATE: Did this do anything? Someone using Internet Explorer 6 please leave a comment and let me [...]
UPDATE: So far, so good. I’ll need to make a few more small changes, but otherwise it looks alright.
Bear with me for a few moments as I switch to a better version of my blog’s theme. The old one had some sidebar layout problems. The new one should fix that, and also look bit [...]
A friend of mine, Greg Balanko-Dickson, is a well-established business coach and published author. The man not only gets the connection between business and blogging, he knows about the one thing a lot of web-based endeavors need help with: business models.
Greg is starting a Sizzlin’ Summer Mentor program. This is a very choice opportunity, as [...]
I made some changes to the layout and moved some pages into posts. There may be the odd broken link because of this, but I’ll try to clean things up as best I can. If you find something that doesn’t work, please leave a comment and let me know, thanks!
I created a new video blog! I don’t know why, but I thought it would be cool to have a video blog of people and animals and stuff in their bathtubs. There is enough video material for any kind of niche you can think of. This odd little micro-niche seemed like a great idea because [...]
UPDATE: Dark Sided isn’t really doing anything for me. It’s not as much fun and it’s kind of a hard one to deal with as far as AdSense goes–it doesn’t make anything.
I’ve decided to revive a couple blogs that had lain dormant for a while. It just didn’t seem right to leave them anymore, and [...]
I’ll be upgrading my WordPress installation over the next hour or so.
All set. Now rockin’ da 2.2.
Anybody who’s been following this blog has no doubt noticed all the gear-shifting I’ve done as my interests change. I keep trying to hammer this blog into whatever-shaped hole I’ve dug for myself (how’s that for mixed metaphors?) and I just don’t think that’s a good idea, anymore. I’m into all kinds of things, and [...]

My life is divided between that which I do for money, and that which I do for creative outlet. My personal website should really be about the latter, and that’s certainly the direction I’ve been moving in with my blogging. I wanted a new, clean, and white-paged design that looked visually comfortable as the home [...]
It has just come to my attention that in IE at 1024 x 768 screen resolution, the sidebar is at the bottom. I’ll take care of it as soon as I get home from work. I apologize for the annoyance.
UPDATE: All fixy fixy. Thanks for your patience.
Thank you for providing no way for me to access and backup my WordPress database. I’m transferring my domain name to Go Daddy, but apparently I have no way to do the same with my data. No PHPMyAdmin, no nothing. Easyhost has gotten far behind the times with hosting features. Their service has always sucked. [...]
My schedule, work, and interests have been changing and right now I feel like I have nothing to say here. This blog feels like a burden, so I’m just going to leave it alone for a while. If you’re here looking for themes, they’re still here, but I’m not doing anything new in that area. [...]
